In nearly every coaching session I’ve done over the past month, we’ve had the same discussion: how to have greater productivity in 2026.

Since I’m not a life coach, this might seem off-topic.

But every book writer, ministry leader, and anyone trying to accomplish a creative task simply has to master his or her schedule or there is no amount of creativity or talent that will save them.

Without a methodical daily system of order, you will:

  • under or overestimate a project scope and cause yourself frustration (and time/money)

  • grossly extend the time it takes to do a task or project due to disorganization

  • underearn or overspend, due to extended timelines

  • say yes to things you have no actual time for

  • continually put things in front of your creative work, potentially never finishing projects or tasks at all

Many creatives come to me because of one or multiple of these reasons. They are at their wits end, frustrated with themselves, and I am their last stop on the accountability train, even when managing their own calendar was something they could have done themselves and potentially saved themselves earlier headache and heartbreak.

In any case, I’m happy to help them. While there are differences in creative work and nuances in scope, here is the tried-and-true system I always recommend.
