What I Really Think About the Current “Revival Movement”

When a young woman visiting in my home asked me recently, “what do you think of the current revival movement?” I bristled in my chair.

Quite frankly, in that moment, I wished she hadn’t asked me. One thing I’m not good at is pretending or deflecting questions well. If I’m asked something directly, I tend to want to answer with the direct truth.

But sometimes my bluntness can hurt people. So I need the Holy Spirit filter to help me say things—yes honest things—well.

Since this is not the first time I’ve been asked this, I felt it might be time for me to answer the question on a broader scale. It’s a good and reasonable, even responsible question.

But since the answer requires thoughtfulness and care, it begs for a longer forum and a more invested community. That’s why I’m keeping this here, in our Close Circle Community.
